Day 60!

It is day 60 of the Obama administration. The political seduction of change - a political campaign that led to a successful bid for the White House based on the eloquence of his speeches and the slogan, “Change we can believe in” is slowly unraveling itself due to lack of experience, incompetence and allowing politics as usual in Washington.

Eloquence of the speaker
Now, we discover O’s eloquence comes from his excellent skill and superb talent at reading prepared speeches from the teleprompter. While it is common for Presidents to use the teleprompter, they generally use them only for major speeches. With President Obama, his teleprompter goes everywhere he goes – big speech, small speech, it does not matter, he is at a loss without it! Without the teleprompter, he is often incoherent and has much difficulty expressing himself. As a result, he appears not to have a good grasp of the issues at hand. That is not what I expect from the President of this United States who has been hailed as a bright and intelligent young man ready to lead this United States in a new direction – an administration that is competent and able to do the job!

Unfortunately, the masses of this United States are still drunk with Obama mania. Sadly, he is viewed and adored more as a pop personality than, as the President of this United States.

Change President Obama did not count on!
60 days into the Obama administration, and tea parties are sprouting across this United States! Ordinary hardworking people are getting together to have their voices heard – they are definitely not happy with the change that Obama said they could believe in. While there were much jubilations on inauguration day, now OBAMA stands for ONE BIG ASS MISTAKE AMERICA – that is according to a sign at one of the many tea parties across this United States. The spirit of the ordinary people lives on strong – tea parties are generally not covered by the mainstream media because it reflects poorly on the Obama administration. We all know that the mainstream media are liberals and unless their hands are forced, negative coverage of the Obama administration is unlikely. However, thank goodness for the internet and blogs, information on the tea parties are out there even if the mainstream media refuse to cover them as news.

Change we definitely cannot believe in
Among the many first acts of the Obama administration is to ban words such as “enemy combatants” and “war on terror.” And, the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano took it a step further by calling terrorist acts “man-made disasters.” So, what should we call terrorists – “politically disadvantage,” “religiously challenged,” “civilization averse”? What should we call the deliberate crashing of the planes into the World Trade Center buildings on 9/11? Some of the suggestions include: “Mutual dissonance between two planes and two buildings,” “unfortunate plane/building conflict,” and “landslide victory in the USA.”

I guess the Obama administration is re-writing history. Now that 9/11 was merely a man-made disaster – what might man-made disasters include? A bridge collapsing and killing motorists and pedestrians, a person who died after choking on his food, a person who fell asleep in his tub and was drowned, an accident on a road or highway, a child who accidently drowned in a pool or in the sea, an accidental death caused by an armed robbery, a family of four died because a child played with fire at night and burned down the house!

Napolitano missed an essential element when she referred to terrorist acts as man-made disasters i.e. in a man-made disaster, there is generally no premeditation and deliberation to kill tens, hundreds or thousands of innocent people who are going about their daily business.

This administration is definitely moving towards observing political correctness to the T. It is bad enough that the schools and media are taking political correctness to the extreme but to have the White House play into the hands of political correctness is dangerous. This United States’ and the world’s security cannot and should never be guided by political correctness.

On day 60, people are beginning to question the kind of change that O’s administration is advocating! With due respect to the Speaker of the House, enforcing the immigration law of this United States is not un-American! However, it is un-American and contrary to the intent of our Founding Fathers to engage in the following conduct: Big Government Spending, Big Government putting its hands into the pockets of hardworking citizens, Big Government re-distributing income, Big Government covering their “A” by passing unconstitutional laws of bill of attainder, ex post facto laws and pointing fingers at AIG executives and private corporations.

Mr. President, how many times have you said to the previous administration, "We can't drill our way out of the energy crisis"? By the same token, we cannot SPEND our way out of the economic crisis, either! This is change we cannot believe in!

Mr. President, you and your party have often accused the previous administration of using the politics of fear to pursue their personal agenda and declared the previous administration incompetent. You promised that it would not be politics as usual in your administration. Now, your administration is using the politics of fear by exaggerating the current economic crisis to pursue your pet projects i.e. education and health care. Is this the change we can believe it – politics as usual in Washington?

While I do believe reforms are required in these important areas, they are at this moment in time not the most pressing. There is grave economic uncertainty that requires immediate attention and resolution. And, the solution does not lie in SPENDING OUR WAY OUT OF THE FINANCIAL CRISIS. It is the easy way out but it is not the best way out of this crisis.

The solution does not lie in Congress passing 1,000 page stimulus package that none of them read, passed within hours of it being distributed to members under the guise of urgency only to have the bill sit for four days until you sign it! Obviously, neither you read the bill! Look at the mess the Bill has created over the bonuses due contractually to AIG executives! Look at the finger-pointing that is going around and you did not own up until your Treasury Secretary fess-up. A good President would not have allowed the Congress’ mess to become a circus or participate in the circus by claiming outrage – you would have no reason to be outraged if you had read or had your staff read through the Bill and stopped it – that is when the bug stops with you, not after a circus of finger pointing and after you have signed it. Talk about irresponsibility and incompetence!

Did the voters vote for change that would result in the release of enemy-combatants to our neighborhoods? I would love to see the reactions of Obama supporters when they discover that their new neighbors down the road or next door used to be enemy-combatants. I hope they would warmly welcome their new neighbors, their new "buds" – I hope they would be generous and spread the love and understanding that the democrats/anti-war people believe we should show to those whose only purpose in life is to destroy our way of life.

Santa Claus came to town early this year!
Is it responsible governance to throw money at states, boards of education and entities involved in health care without a plan! Would it not show more competence and responsibility on your part first to ask each state to assess their individual situation and submit a proposal on what they need in terms of upgrading infrastructure, education, health care etc before disbursement of public funds? Would that not be a more fiscally responsible approach than just throwing money at states and insisting they find ways to spend the money?

Congratulations, kiddo! We've got their money, we're gonna spend their money and we'll tax them retroactively - YES, WE CAN!

Your administration’s policy and problem solving approach goes against the very essence of this country. This United States rewards hard work and requires individuals and corporations to assume responsibility for their actions. Instead, your administration is 1) rewarding people who are irresponsible e.g. people who bought houses they could ill-afford 2) rewarding people who make poor investment decisions by compensating them for their loss, 3) bailing out businesses that acted irresponsibly instead of subjecting them to the laws of this United States which is to file for bankruptcy that would permit them to re-organize and re-structure to get out of the mess they got themselves into and 4) not reproaching Congress for their irresponsibility in passing a multi-billion stimulus package without reading the 1,000 page document under the guise that it was urgent. Mr. President, you appear not to have taken governance seriously enough. Actions have consequences and government actions should never be taken without adequate time to review and reflect on its effect. Similarly, the Congress should not pass legislations and the President should not sign them into law without first reading them.

If the federal government sees it fit to punish AIG executives for acting irresponsible thus creating the financial crisis, the federal government should also punish Congress for their failure to act responsibly when they pass a Bill that would create trillions dollars worth of debt without reading its contents. Congress should be forced to give back their past salary for their failure to pursue noticeable cracks in the financial systems back in the 1990s and for their poorly conceived policy of making homeownership affordable for all Americans regardless of their ability to carry the mortgage and without safeguards. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander.

Oath to uphold the laws of this United States
We voted for a President that will make the federal government more responsible for their action, uphold the rule of law - which you and your party claimed the previous administration failed to do with respect to the way they treated the enemy combatants in Gitmo. At least the previous administration had a valid reason – national security. The reason your administration failed to uphold the rule of law is to cover-up for a very bad Congressional and White House mistake in not reading the Bill before signing it!

The Speaker of the House, a democrat, publicly declared to a crowd of legal and illegal immigrants that it is un-American to enforce the immigration laws of this United States.
Did she or did she not swear to uphold the laws of this United States as a Congresswoman and as the Speaker of the House? It may appear inhumane to raid homes and separate families but when someone breaks the law, they have to bear the consequences. It is true this is a country of immigrants but all immigrants are expected to obey the laws of this United States and enter the country legally. Until you can find time to come up with a plan for immigration reform and proper laws are passed, the Executive Branch of this United States is expected to faithfully execute the laws passed by the Legislative Branch.

It is an utter disgrace for the US Congress to cover their rear end and deflect focus on their incompetence by pointing their fingers at AIG and at the greed of private corporations. This United States is heading towards a change we CANNOT believe in when the Congress is permitted to abuse their power by passing 1) the Bill of Attainder to punish the AIG staff for having their contracts with respect to their bonuses enforced and 2) Ex Post Facto law making what was legally theirs at the time the contract was formed to become illegal.

In view of the Congress’ success in deflecting public outrage against them by accusing the AIG executives of greed and irresponsibility, it is unlikely that any of the AIG staff would sue the Congress. I do sincerely hope some would decide to sue the Congress as a matter of principle and to assert their constitutional rights as citizens of this United States. Congress should not be allowed to abuse their power or use their power to cover their big “A” mistake.

Mr. President, how often have you and your party said that America must be an example to the rest of the world – we are a country of laws? And, yet in the first 60 days, you and Congress have “bent” the law to suit your purpose. You and your party have more than once accused the previous administration of the same. Is this the “change” we have been promised?

Am I surprised by what has happened in the last 60 days? No, because when we have democrats control both the White House and the Congress in this United States, it is party time – time to spend other people’s money without any reservation, time to shore up their support base by giving as much freebies as possible so they can all feel warm, fuzzy and taken care of except guess who is left to shoulder the huge spending bill – the evil, greedy corporations and the evil, selfish rich people! Kill both the evil corporations and greedy rich people with your taxes and you'll find the federal coffers dry up superfast!
